Hey, I'm still alive!  How great is that? <g>  My PotC story is idling, but I still have hopes for it-- but a hundred other projects with more deadly timelines have intervened.  But I slog on! :)

On a different note-- I saw WALL-E, and *adored* it!!!  WALL-E has taken a place as co-favorite Pixar movie with Ratatouille now.  I is in love. :)

I'm *STILL* working on the PotC fanfic...though it now has me bleeding from the ears as well as the forehead.  I hate it when projects get to this stage-- past the frantic initial "my writing hand can't keep up with my brain" stage to the "every word is an Everest climb" stage.  

But I'm still working on it. :)

This one still has some editing marks in it, but again, posting it as I go is giving me momentum and faith. :) 

I'm trying not to read other fics that might go to similar places as this one is going-- so no OCs or "Jack's background explained" fics for me.  That has been tough for me, especially since I'm seeing several things posted on BlackPearlSails that seem terribly intriguing.  But I don't want to subconsciously use anyone else's ideas, or even seem like I have; nor do I want to abandon this story if someone else has done something similar.  So it's an exertion of willpower for me...at least until this is done.  Further incentive to work on it! <g>

Edit:  Yep, I took the piece of rough draft down-- it was just TOO rough.  But I still haven't given up on the story!  I'll be posting more when it's fit to be seen in the light of day. :)

I'm just posting this to sort of start the ball rolling-- this fic is starting to kick my a&&, and I'm afraid if I don't put it "out there" into the world, I'll stick it in a metaphorical file drawer and never touch it again.  Posting it, even in this rough draft form, is sort of my way of committing to finishing it.  Plus it at least starts to gather it someplace for when it's time to beg for betas. :P

Very long.  Mild swearing.  Some discussion of violence.  Just in case someone gets brave and decides to look under the cut. :>

Inspired by the blackpearlsailscommunity, I started throwing a few fic ideas down on...well, not paper, but you get the idea. :)  So if you care to do so, you may read this snippet of rough draft, and let me know what you think:  burn it?  Bury it?  Dump it?  Or continue playing with it and see if something comes of it?


So, if you care to voice an opinion...what do you think?

I'm sitting here watching CotBP for something like the zillionth time in three days (combination of persistent plot bunny and pesky insomnia), and it struck me that no matter how many times I watch the movie, Will breaking the sconce at the beginning of the movie is funny every frking time...it's Disney plussing in live action form. :)

Well, if you stumble across this LJ before I get anything loaded here...it's intended to be a repository of fandomy goodness.

What it actually turns out to be remains to be seen. <g>
